Karen Lynch
Karen is a Qualified Mediator with the International Mediation Institute and a Newly Qualified Member of the Irish Professional Mediators Organisation. She is also a qualified Barrister.
Karen's other qualifications include a Diploma in Legal Studies and an Advance Diploma in Education and Law from the Honourable Society of King's Inns. She also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Gloucestershire and a BSc in Chemistry from University College Dublin.
Karen started her career as a Chemistry Teacher working in schools across the UK and Ireland. During this time Karen held positions such as Head of Year, Head of House, Student Intervention Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead. This led her to work closely with families on a day to day basis, on a range of different issues. Issues spanned from very serious cases of bullying, self harm, domestic violence, child criminal exploitation, child sexual exploitation, and child neglect to working with families where parents were separating, where there were issues with living arrangements for the children, and working with families that had children with medical needs or additional needs.
This work sparked Karen's interest in mediation. Where she had been unofficially mediating issues with families through her work, mediation training provided her with the formal process for working through these conflicts.
Karen has now taken the opportunity to work solely as a mediator.
